My First Photo Adventure

Tomorrow I'll be on a plane to Nicaragua to visit family and take a much needed vacation. I'm so excited because I'll be seeing and spending time with family I have not seen in two years. I'm so excited to be going to beaches and having lots of laughs. Nothing like riding on the back of a pick up truck and looking at all the beautiful scenery that just whips past you. Nicaragua is an experience. I'm extra excited because I'll be sharing that experience with my boyfriend. We are gonna have a great time.

Besides all the family fun, relaxing at the beach, or eating lots of food, I think I'm more excited about taking photographs while I'm there. I LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES! I love to capture all that my eyes see (and yes I know how corny I'm sounding!) Taking pictures is what you do to remember all the great moments you had and all the beauty you saw. I'll be posting some of my favorite photos I take when I come back from vacation.

Here I am sharing the first photos I took when I went to Nicaragua back in 2003 (last time I went was when I was four) I took these photos before I went to school to learn photography, but I think you can see that I had an "eye" for it. The passion I had to learn photography and become a professional photographer was very strong then. I thank my lucky stars I'm a professional photographer now.

The top photo was taken in the city of Granada. I photographed my cousins watching the cars drive by before we went into a restaurant for lunch.

The middle photo is my cousin running with his skim board at the beach at Montelemar. Back when I was at The Hallmark Institute of Photography, we had a class where we reviewed and critiqued photographs we had done in the past, and I had brought this one. It was a bit nervous having my worked critiqued because we had fame photographer Kevin Bubriski discussing our photos. He had nothing but kind things to say about the photograph, which gave me a big boost of pride in my work.

Last photograph is of a plant in some building that was in the city of Granada. I dont know what caught my eye about it, but I remember I had to STOP and take the photo. Now understanding "lighting" after learning it at Hallmark, I can appreciate the lighting more whenever I look back at the photo. The light falls so beautifully on the plant. One of my favorite photographs I did way back when.

So off I go to day dream about about the fun and joy I'm gonna have while on vacation. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my vacation pictures.

The Lovely Livia

A couple of weeks ago I photographed the fun and silly Livia. She contacted me after viewing the photographs I did for her friend Amado. She had a million and one ideas and then some for outfits and props to bring in. I have to admit that when she wrote she had a old fashioned boom box, my mouth watered...so cool!

She wanted to capture her personality of a girly girl and the tomboy she once was. I think I captured that pretty well, but then again it did help to have Livia to work with. Along with the tomboy/girly shots, we had a lot to play with all the fun sunglasses she brought, the pretty dresses, the fun props and accessories...she even brought the old video game console Nintendo (having flashbacks of mario bros.) Check out my fanpage on Facebook to see more.

Thanks Livia for being outgoing and sweet. You made photographing you a joy. Another special thanks for the silly bands. Another special thanks for Amado having such nice friends to send over to me...much appreciated!

Mister

These past weeks have been busy. Spending lots of time with family and friends and eating good. During the past few weeks I had the cute pleasure of seeing my cousin's pet dog Mister. He's a rescued Jack Russell mix pup. Since my cousin was away on a great vacation, his sister, my other cousin, was dog sitting. (Hope I haven't confused you...I have a big family and lots of cousins.)

Mister may look tiny but he packs a mighty bark. Timid at first, he becomes a cuddle buddy when he grows comfortable around you. He is extremely sweet and very well behaved. While he was staying at my house one weekend, I noticed he would perch himself up on the arm of our sofa to stare outside the window. He looked so cute and comfortable that I just had to photograph him quickly with my point and shoot camera. These are two of my favorite photos.

Mister is very much a part of the family...and he's always got a reserved seat on our couch.

Abby's Birthday Flowers

Last year I posted up a photo I took with my simple point and shoot camera. Here I am posting up another one I took of Abby's birthday flowers.

Not much was done in photoshop with this photo except to make it slightly brighter. The flowers looked so great in the natural light. They had just started to bloom. They were gorgeous flowers and I know that Abby was happy to have received them. Even though they weren't for me, I did enjoy having them sit at my desk for the week. Nothing like having pretty flowers by your side.

The Beauty that is Julie

Finally I'm posting up photos I did of the beautiful Julie. I loved photographing her and just like Mary, she was a natural in front of the camera. I also have to state that I am extremely jealous of her collection of shoes.

It was couple of weeks ago that I photographed Julie, back when I did the Sol Beso shoot. You can check out the website at www.solbeso.com to see some of the shots from that day.

Here are a few of my favorite shots from that day. Please check out my Fanpage on Facebook to see more great photos, including an adorable one of Julie's unbelievable well behaved pup Cash.

"Mary, Mary"

The lovely and fun Mary. I photographed her a couple a weeks ago during the Sol Beso shoot.
I'll be working with her in the future to do some more modeling shots. Mary was extremely easy going and easy to work with. A natural in front of the camera.

To see more of the sexy photo shoot check out my Fanpage on Facebook and become a fan.

On another note I have to mention that whenever I say the name Mary or think about the photo shoot I had with Mary I automatically start singing the lyrics "Mary, Mary...why ya buggin? Mary, Mary...I need ya huggin" (hope one gets the reference) Music really is the soundtrack to our lives.

Sol Beso

Its been awhile since I last posted something and I've been looking forward to post my new work I've done for Sol Beso.

Sol Beso is a mobile spray tanning business. I've been asked to take some beachy looking shots, as well as before and after shots of the amazing spray tanning. I'm also helping in the designing of the website that should be up and running in a couple of weeks. All very exciting.

These are a few of my favorite shots I did for Sol Beso. Both Julie and Mary were great to work with and so was the owner Lisa. I did another shoot with both Julie and Mary of which I will be posting in the next coming weeks. To see more of my favorite shots check out my fanpage on facebook.

I'll of course will announce when the Sol Beso website is up so you can see the final outcome. So if you don't want to look pasty white and instead you wanna look like you've been "sun kissed" check out Sol Beso.
